Majority of Americans living in Costa Rica are young adults


About 16,000 Americans living in Costa Rica, contrary to what is intended, the majority are young adults.
For various reasons, thousands of Americans have chosen to make their lives in Costa Rica, its pleasant climate and its lower cost of living and natural beauty, these Americans move to the country each year to take advantage of its unmatched benefits.
According to statistics displayed by the newspaper La nation, about half of Americans living in the country have less than 29 years, 41% of them has a marriage and family in Costa Rica, and 20% of them are retirees or pensioners.
Americans, who choose Costa Rica as their retirement destination, prefer a quiet life, far from the chaos of city, in the sectors of beach or mountain, both on the Pacific coast and in other regions as Perez Zeledon in the South of the country.
The majority of Americans living in the country are engaged in work, especially English teaching in schools or language schools. However also carry out administrative and managerial tasks.
