Costa Rica received approval to enter the Pacific Alliance

Admission to this community requires having free trade agreements with the four founding countries, requirement that the country met recently.

Last Thursday, the country received an approval to be part of the Pacific Alliance, a trade group comprised of Latin American countries.

The news, presented by President Laura Chinchilla through your Facebook account said that "plenary session confirms welcome Costa Rica initiate peaceful process of accession to the Alliance. First nation after the founding group".

On the same day the President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, said that Costa Rica was a step away from joining the Forum and that this step was taken with the mutual agreement of the Member States.

Of the Pacific Alliance is an international forum to promote business development and business based on Government policy, the Elimination of trade protectionism policies and the export quotas, as liberation of tariffs, among others.

Laura Chinchilla participated as an observer at the Summit of the Pacific Alliance, where simultaneously signed the free trade agreement with the Colombian nation.

This agreement is part of the requirements that the country needed to meet as requested by the Alliance of the Pacific; Colombia is one of the four founders and among all its members joined a population of 210 million, 55 percent of Latin America's total trade.

In addition to this presidential summit, organized a business forum where participated 400 business leaders in the region who seek spaces for the production and marketing of their goods and services.

On earlier Wednesday for example Costa Rican businessman Samuel Yankelewitz, who was President in former times, the Costa Rican Union of Chambers and associations of the private company, said that this income from the country to the Forum is a positive aspect and is an important window for the development of the existing and new businesses.
