Costa Rica has 5% of the world's biodiversity and is recognized internationally for its protection of the environment.
The
National Institute of biodiversity (INBio) launched on Wednesday an
application for smart phones that will allow users to learn about the
biodiversity of Costa Rica.
This application which i s free can be downloaded from the mobile phone with iOS and Android operating systems.
The
App, which will have different Touit Costa Rica, aims to become an easy
to use Guide for users and provide information of some 500 species of
easy watching around the country.
Touit Costa Rica will have high quality images with text, distribution maps and geographical references.
More
than 2 million tourists who visit Costa Rica will now have the
opportunity in terms of where to find species that want to see during
their trip, particularly functional for investigators or fans of birds.
The
instrument for geographical references can indicate where locate the
species, whether it be in Heredia, San Carlos, Alajuela or some region
of the Pacific coast, a favorite of many visitors.
The launch of this useful application was May 15 in the facilities of INBio Park, located in the province of Heredia.
Ledezma stressed that this application was created by INBio and the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE).
This
application is in Spanish and English, version with the additional
objective of facilitating the sector tourism, an important technological
input, that makes the work of identification of species in the
different areas of the country most versatile.
According
to data that has spread on different occasions the Ministry of
migration and aliens around 30% of tourists arriving in the country make
it to engage in bird watching.
The
details of the application were also unveiled at the appointment of
Wednesday, May 15, this because it is available to be downloaded on your
Mobile Smartphone.
