United increases flights to Costa Rica

The US airline will operate more flights from the United States towards the country in Central America.

United Airlines announced last Saturday, that will increase weekly flights to Costa Rica, with the opening of two routes most flights out of Chicago and another from Washington.

Each of the flights has a capacity of 150 passengers, which means that to the offer of 12,000 seats already offered to the country now.

"A flight comes from Chicago and one from Washington, two cities that meet the profile of traveller we are looking for: earns more than $120,000 a year, from 45-55 years, travelling in family, with University schooling while on vacation in our destinations competition", said Allan Flores, Tourism Minister.

The opening of these routes Santa Juan was conducted at the international terminal Maria, where both planes landed with 150 passengers each.

Recently other airlines such as Delta Airlines have also increased their travel to and from Costa Rica, at both international airports, Daniel Oduber in Liberia, Guanacaste, and Juan Santa Maria International Airport in Alajuela.

"We are pleased to get these new operations that will add around 12,000 additional seats to the existing offer," said the Minister in a statement to radio.

To add these two flights, United Airlines became the airline that has more routes to travel to Costa Rica from the United States. It currently has flights that travel from Houston and the city of New York.

Connections of flight in Houston, New York, Chicago and Washington are essential for travelers coming from Europe and some cities in the Asian continent.

According to the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) country data obtained 2.219 billion dollars in revenue by tourism, this represents an increase of 11.5% in comparison with figures for the 2011.

The number of visitors per year, continues to exceed the 2 million and continues to increase.
