Starbucks opened for the first time in Costa Rica in the year 2012 and already has two cafes in the country.
Advisor and Director founder of the chain of coffee shops, Starbucks, is eyeing to Costa Rica, this time not for the opening of new premises, Howard Schultz chose Costa Rica to establish a laboratory where the aim is to develop new varieties of coffee. This will be done in a 600 acre estate, approximately 240 hectares of land located on the slope of Poás Volcano.
This global agricultural Center seeks to test new coffee blends that seek to improve the management of the land at the same time. The farm which is located in Costa Rica, will be part of its program known as Starbucks Coffee Trading Company, dedicated to the purchase of coffee around the world. He is expected that the final details of this transaction are concluded in the month of May.
