Costa Rica will host the Central American Games


22 venues will receive 35 disciplines throughout the capital and other cities of the country
Since 1973 have been organized the Central American Games and during that time Costa Rica had never been headquarters for them, after a lot of changes to infrastructure, the country prepares for the inauguration of this next 3 and up to 17 March.
For the realization of these games the country had to make an investment of $10 million in infrastructure. Sports spaces will be of top quality and will be able to accommodate 35 disciplines in its 22 campuses nationwide, mostly located in the capital, San Jose.

80% of the venues received a treatment of infrastructure so that they are in optimal conditions to welcome athletes from all over Central America. The National Stadium, located in the Sabana San Jose, will be the most important site where there will be games of soccer, athletics and chess.
Costa Rica intends to carry out a first world opening, which will be at the height of world Olympic and Soccer World Cup games. The show's opening and closing shall be borne by the Director of the Cirque du Soleil, Daneil Lamarre, and will dominate especially special performances and an emphasis on the traditions and the Costa Rican culture, with the participation of 1400 artists.
"We want these games to leave something positive to all the Central American brothers; It is the first time that we organize this type of event, but I think that we have received the necessary advice so that everything is a success and that they are marked as the best organized Central American Games", said Heiner Ugalde, Manager of the Organizing Committee.
Despite being the first time that Costa Rica has received support and advice from Guatemala who was the first host these games in the region.
