The United States is worried about an increase in drug trafficking in the region.
Concerned
about Central America’s regional security strategy, U.S. Secretary of
State Hillary Clinton will meet on Tuesday in New York with the region’s
foreign ministers, including Costa Rican Foreign Minister Enrique
Castillo.
The meeting will be held during a session of the United Nations, Foreign Vice Minister Carlos Roverssi said.
U.S.
officials said they are concerned with an increase in drug trafficking
in the Central America southern triangle, formed by Panama, Nicaragua
and Costa Rica.
Castillo also will meet with representatives from Russia and other countries during the visit to New York.
